Lula Shack A 5-10 minute stroll away down on Hayle’s North Quay. Look out for their sunset chillout DJ sessions.

The Bluff Inn – Just 5-10 minutes walk away, overlooking Hayle beach. Tables overlooking the beach with gorgeous views. (Dog Friendly)

The Bucket of Blood is the closet pub to Rainbow- just a ten minute walk. (Dog Friendly)

The Cornish Arms is a pub in Hayle town. (Dog Friendly)

The Copperhouse Inn in also in town and has been recently renovated. (Dog Friendly)

Birdies Bistro is a short 5 minutes drive away, and is very popular. (Dog Friendly)

The Salt Bar allows dogs in the daytime and is a short walk away (just opposite Asda). (Dog Friendly)

Days out

There is so much to see in the local area. Hayle is the perfect location for exploring Cornwall and it’s magical coastline. In addition here are some of the local attracions.

Marazion and St Michael’s Mount – The jewel in Cornwall’s crown, is a rocky island crowned by a medieval church and castle. You can walk over at low tide or get a boat over when the causeway is no longer passable.

Land’s End – Mainland Britain’s most south-westerly point.

Heartlands – World heritage site with mining attractions and botanical gardens.

Cornwall Gold – 18 acres of beautiful grounds, with a jewellery showroom and much more. Set in the site of an old Tin Mine.

Hayle Pitch and Putt is great fun for everyone. It’s also the home to football golf.

Go Karting is a fun local activity.

Hayle Outdoor Swimming pool – This is only a 10 minute walk from Rainbow and has slides for little ones.

Paradise Park – Wildlife Sanctuary with fabulous indoor play area.

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is run by the SEA LIFE TRUST which  is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coastline. It’s a great day out where you get to meet the seals. 

Flambards – Theme park with plenty to entertain all ages.

Country Skittles –  Great activities and a restaurant for those less than sunny days.

Jubilee pool in Penzance is the largest art deco lido in the UK.

The Eden Project – A dramatic global garden housed in tropical biomes that nestle in a crater the size of 30 football pitches.

The Minack Theatre – An open-air theatre perched in the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean.

St Ives – Picturesque town near Hayle, which houses the seafront Tate St Ives gallery.

First essentials – Shopping

We’ll leave you with a bottle of milk and some essentials, but if you need a big shop the nearest options are:

Local Mini-Market shop, just outside the Haven holidays site (continue down the main access road past the main entrance to Riviere Towans site). (1 minute drive or 5 mins walk)

Asda Hayle Harbour (6-7 minutes drive)

Lidl (4-5 minutes drive, or approx 20 minutes walk)

Marks and Spencer Hayle (5-6 minutes drive)

Further afield there is a Tesco in St Ives and a Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s in Penzance.

Online food ordering

Most major food retailers will deliver an on-line delivery to Rainbow chalet. Please ensure your delivery slot is after 5pm on the day of your arrival, and that you will be there to receive it. When booking an online delivery, please address it to G19 Rainbow, Riviere Towans, Hayle, TR27 5AF. Please include a mobile number which will be available and turned on.

If there is space to add additional information for the driver, you can add: “Enter the Riviere Towans site through the first access road you come to (before the main site entrance). Rainbow is the first chalet on the left hand side.”
