Booking Terms and Conditions

I hope you love Rainbow as much as my family does. Here are some general booking terms and conditions:

Check-in Time is after 5pm and Checkout is 10am. Please contact me if you have any specific requests.

Rainbow is a non-smoking / non-vaping property.

Payment details and Security/Reservation Deposits

  • To secure a booking I require a 25% deposit. This is non-refundable (except in the case of a Government enforced travel ban for your local area based on your registered home address).
  • The balance of the final payment is required 6 weeks before your holiday start date. I reserve the right to re-let Rainbow if the balance of rent is not paid at this point.
  • All bookings must be made by a person who is 21 years or more at the date of making the booking.

Covid specific terms and conditions

  • If your booking cannot go ahead due to Government enforced travel restrictions that apply to your registered booking address, you will be fully refunded.
  • If you or a member of your party are sadly unwell / unable to travel for other reasons (for instance if you need to isolate or have tested positive before or during your stay), I will not be able to refund you. I strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover your own personal circumstances and look for one that will cover Covid. I am not allowed to recommend a particular policy as I am not registered to do so (but there are a growing number now available). 

 If any member of your party develops symptoms whilst on holiday you must: 

  • Stay indoors and self-isolate.
  • Arrange a test using Rainbow’s address.  There is a poster on display in the chalet with all the instructions for you.
  • Notify me.
  • If you subsequently test positive and feel well enough to travel (and are able to do so without using public transport) it is recommended that you return home as quickly as possible.  If you are too unwell to travel home, then you must self-isolate at Rainbow.  Unfortunately, you will have to pay for the remainder of the time you stay in Rainbow, as I will need to refund any subsequent guests. 

Security deposit

At the payment of the final balance, I will ask for you to pay a refundable damage / security deposit of £100.  Sadly we have already sustained considerable damage to some of the linen and furnishings of Rainbow, so I just want to ask that all our guests look after Rainbow to preserve it for everyone’s future enjoyment.  Your security deposit will be repaid to you as soon as possible after your departure, as long as the following conditions have been met:

  • No damage is done to Rainbow or its contents, including linens, beyond normal wear and tear (please let us know if you have any accidents or minor breakages, so we can replace them as necessary).
  • All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
  • All rubbish is placed in the rubbish bin, and dirty dishes are washed prior to departure.
  • The property is fully locked on departure and the keys are left in the key safe.
  • You tell me about any problems of deficiencies in the property or its contents immediately (or within 24 hours). On receipt of such a report, I (or my representative) will agree in good faith with you (the guest) what remedial action should be taken. On no account will complaints be accepted, or correspondence entered into where complaints are made after the end of the Rental Period, as I would not have had the opportunity to take immediate remedial action for you.

Linen and Cleaning

Electricity, linen and cleaning are included in the rental fees. Please bring your own beach towels to use outside. Please do not take any of Rainbow’s linen outside of the property.

Dogs

Please notify me if you are hoping to bring your dog. I ask the following of dog owners:

  • That where possible you discourage dogs from jumping up onto the sofa or bed, but if that is difficult for your dog (I understand that our dogs may have different rules at home), that you bring a clean dog blanket or towel from home to place onto the soft surfaces before allowing your dog to jump up onto them.  (In particular, please avoid dog hairs or muddy paw prints from going onto the cushions, blankets or throws.)
  • That you do not leave your dog unattended in the chalet.
  • That all dogs are kept under strict control / on a lead on the park itself.
  • All dogs must be wormed and treated with the appropriate flea and tick deterrent prior to your arrival.
  • I recommend that Rainbow is most suited to a maximum of 2-3 dogs, but please contact me before booking, if you would like to bring more than this.
  • As a fellow dog owner for many years, I ask that pups and young dogs under the age of 12 months wait until they are over 12 months to visit Rainbow. This is in the interests of your dog, your own sanity (and Rainbow’s chair legs!). Thank you for understanding.
  • I assume no responsibility for illness or injury that humans or pets may incur while on the premises.

Liability for personal injury and damage to property

  • I (the owner of Rainbow) shall not be responsible for death or any personal injury suffered by the Guest or any invitees of the Guest save where such is directly attributable to any wilful or negligent Act on the part of myself, the Owner or any servants or Agents of mine acting within the course of their authority.
  • I (the owner of Rainbow) shall not in any circumstances be responsible for any damage to property or any consequential losses suffered by the Guest or the Guest invitees arising out of any negligent Act or omissions on the part of myself or my servants or Agents acting within the scope of their authority. The Client must make his own insurance arrangements in respect of such matters.

Non availability

I (the owner of Rainbow) am relieved of responsibility and liability in the event of the accommodation not being available owing to storm, fire or circumstances beyond my control. In such instances I will offer a full refund.
